Magnon, Ence’s renewable energy subsidiary, is expanding its school visit programme at the Huelva energy complex with the introduction of a new educational activity in applied science, designed to help pupils understand the main challenges of the energy transition and the role that biomass, biogenic CO₂ and renewable fuels within a new energy model designed to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

The initiative expands on the usual format of site visits by including an interpretative workshop. The aim is to offer a more comprehensive, participatory and informative experience, in which students can gain first-hand insight into how a biomass-powered renewable energy generation complex works, whilst also reflecting on current energy challenges.

The strategic role of biomass today

The new format will combine a guided tour of the plant with a group work activity, based on dynamic methodologies and reflection. The activity will address topics such as decarbonisation, the circular economy and biogenic CO₂, within a new energy context in which reducing the use of fossil fuels through the responsible use of agroforestry biomass is essential.

Through this initiative, Magnon aims to bring technical concepts that form part of the current energy debate into the educational setting. The company wishes to help strengthen the role of science communication as a tool for bringing industry, the energy transition and knowledge closer to the local community.

“The future of energy is also explained in the classroom. We want young people to be able to learn first-hand how renewable energy is produced from biomass and what opportunities innovation in biogenic CO₂ and renewable fuels opens up,” said José Antonio Agüera, Magnon’s Director of Operations.

Magnon’s energy complex in Huelva is one of the country’s leading centres for renewable energy generation from biomass. Magnon is Spain’s largest biomass operator and produces around 2,000 GWh of renewable electricity annually from agroforestry biomass, with a capacity equivalent to supplying more than 550,000 households.

Magnon, Ence’s renewable energy subsidiary, is expanding its school visit programme at the Huelva energy complex with the introduction of a new educational activity in applied science, designed to help pupils understand the main challenges of the energy transition and the role that biomass, biogenic CO₂ and renewable fuels within a new energy model designed […]

[1

post-27420","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sin-categoria
