{"id":24169,"date":"2025-10-06T10:06:52","date_gmt":"2025-10-06T08:06:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ence.es\/?p=24169"},"modified":"2025-10-06T10:15:37","modified_gmt":"2025-10-06T08:15:37","slug":"magnon-erasmop2x-and-power2x-are-promoting-in-puertollano-an-e-methanol-project-that-will-be-connected-to-the-future-hydrogen-backbone-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ence.es\/en\/magnon-erasmop2x-and-power2x-are-promoting-in-puertollano-an-e-methanol-project-that-will-be-connected-to-the-future-hydrogen-backbone-network\/","title":{"rendered":"Magnon, ErasmoP2X, and Power2X are promoting in Puertollano an e-methanol project that will be connected to the future Hydrogen Backbone Network"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Enag\u00e1s,<\/strong> designated as the Provisional Manager of the Hydrogen Transport Network (HTNO) by Royal Decree-Law 8\/2023, will develop Spain\u2019s hydrogen network, which will connect Magnon\u2019s and ErasmoPower2X\u2019s production and demand projects.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Magnon<\/strong> will supply biogenic CO\u2082 for the synthesis of 200,000 tonnes of e-methanol per year at its Puertollano (Ciudad Real) site, integrating the project with its current renewable energy production plant powered by biomass.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>ErasmoP2X and Power2X<\/strong> will produce green hydrogen at their facilities in Saceruela (Ciudad Real) and will participate in the execution of the e-methanol production project.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Magnon, a leader in renewable energy production from forest and agricultural biomass; ErasmoPower2X, a developer of large-scale green hydrogen projects; and Power2X, a benchmark company in the production of green molecules, are jointly promoting a pioneering project for the production of e-methanol at Magnon\u2019s renewable energy complex in Puertollano (Ciudad Real).<\/p>\n<p>This pioneering e-methanol production project \u2014 which includes renewable hydrogen in its composition \u2014 will be connected to the Spanish Hydrogen Backbone Network being developed by Enag\u00e1s. The company, designated as Provisional Manager of the Hydrogen Transport Network (HTNO) by Royal Decree-Law 8\/2023, will link production points with demand centers.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the collaboration, Magnon will lead the biogenic carbon capture and integration of the e-methanol project at its Puertollano biomass plant; Power2X and ErasmoPower2X will supply green hydrogen produced through their photovoltaic development (1 GW) and hydrogen production facilities in Saceruela.<\/p>\n<p>The project will strengthen Spain\u2019s position as a European hub for green molecules, generate new economic opportunities and quality jobs in Castilla-La Mancha, and attract investment in energy innovation and in the hydrogen and renewable methanol value chains.
