Magnon Green Energy, the Ence Group’s renewable energy subsidiary, has successfully completed the annual technical shutdown of its facilities in M\u00e9rida. In this operation, the company has invested more than three million euros to improve equipment to maintain the environmental excellence of its facilities, as well as to review and maintenance actions that result in increased operating performance and reinforcing the safety of the plant.<\/p>\n
As it does every year, the company’s renewable biomass power generation plant in Extremadura has paused production to carry out maintenance and overhaul work on its facilities. Thus, improvements have been made to the performance of the boiler and the cooling towers, and the annual maintenance of the biomass treatment plant, the turbine and the generator have been carried out, as the main actions.<\/p>\n
To ensure the correct development of the programmed works, a specific safety plan has been implemented, a strategic priority for Magnon, which has culminated the process with zero accidents.<\/p>\n
Throughout the two-month shutdown, more than 70 auxiliary companies and some 600 people have participated in the various tasks involved in the shutdown.<\/p>\n
The M\u00e9rida plant generates renewable energy from the agricultural and forestry biomass of the Extremadura area, giving a new life to these remains which, otherwise, can be an environmental problem in the Extremadura countryside, due to the uncontrolled burning that sometimes occurs. In addition, its activity positively benefits the economy of the territory since, with an installed capacity of 20MW, it generates up to 480 direct, indirect and induced jobs in the area, according to data provided by APPA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
