Magnon Green Energy, the Ence Group’s renewable energy subsidiary, and the University of Huelva today shared an open discussion in which, accompanied by students from the IES Fuente Juncal de Aljaraque and the IES Diego Rodr\u00edguez de Estrada de San Juan del Puerto, they pursued to inspire female vocations in the industry.<\/p>\n

During the event, workers from the Magnon Huelva Energy Complex and students from the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSI) of the University of Huelva carried out a dynamic with the students to create close references and strengthen historical references, defending the equality in scientific fields, traditionally masculinized.<\/p>\n

For Diego Lamela, Director of Magnon Huelva, “it is essential to empower all women and girls to occupy their rightful place within the industry. At Magnon, we are committed to female talent and we have our doors open for all those professionals who wish to work in renewable energies\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to the UNESCO report \u201cCracking the Clues: STEM Education for Women and Girls\u201d, girls lose interest in STEM subjects over the years, resulting in less participation in studies related to the scientific branch in secondary school. Consequently, only 35% of all students enrolled in the world in the study of STEM subjects in higher education are women.<\/p>\n

In addition, UNESCO points out that the disciplines in which there is a lower number of female representation are engineering, manufacturing and construction, natural sciences, mathematics, statistics and ICT.<\/p>\n

Magnon, through its Equality Plan, seeks to be a national and industrial benchmark for equal opportunities. It is committed to female talent in all professional fields and, aware of the importance of education, it also focuses on activities like this, in which it encourages the new generations to discover the wide range of possibilities in the industrial world and new benchmarks. .<\/p>\n
