Twenty-four social initiatives from San Juan del Puerto will receive annual aid from Magnon

Magnon Green Energy and the San Juan del Puerto City Council have awarded the aid granted each year by the Ence Group’s renewables subsidiary within the framework of the collaboration agreement it maintains with this town in Huelva and which is endowed with 100,000 euros. Of the 40 projects that have been submitted to the 2023 call, 24 initiatives with a high positive impact on the socioeconomic, environmental and cultural development of this town in Huelva have benefited.

As every year, the monitoring commission in charge of managing the collaboration agreement has taken into account the social interest of the initiatives, as well as the number of beneficiaries of each project and its economic, cultural or environmental significance for San Juan del Puerto and your citizenship.

The aid will again support the most vulnerable groups such as minors and the elderly or people with functional diversity. Once again, educational quality, diversity, healthy lifestyle habits, social well-being and the reduction of the digital divide are the most repeated objectives of the selected initiatives, which this year also dedicate special attention to caring for cultural customs and of the artistic heritage of the town.

In the words of the director of the Magnon Green Energy energy center in Huelva, Diego Lamela, ‘with these grants we feel we are an active part of the San Juan community, and they help us to cultivate a good neighborly relationship in which the most important thing is knowing how to listen to the needs of those around us. If we can also promote the social, environmental or economic improvement of the town, an objective achieved to make a truly sustainable management.

For her part, Rocío Cárdenas, mayoress of San Juan del Puerto, expressed her satisfaction for “signing for the fifth consecutive year these grants which, added to municipal resources, are essential to support the work of the groups that benefit and work for the improvement of the municipality. Every year there are more associations and groups that participate by requesting them and I must highlight the good health that associations enjoy in this town.

The collaboration framework agreement that Magnon has maintained with this Huelva town for the last six years has already fully or partially financed 113 social, cultural, environmental or sports projects, and practically the entire population of San Juan has benefited from them. In fact, the aid from the Ence Group’s renewable energy subsidiary in Huelva has established itself as an important local tool to facilitate the necessary work of the groups that make up the solid associative fabric of the town.
