A total of 388 projects have submitted their application to the new call for the Ence Social Plan in Pontevedra, launched on April 11.
In this new edition of the Plan, it is worth noting the number of applications submitted in the areas of Support for Sport, with 184 projects, and Recovery and Care of the Environment, with 52 applications.
In addition, 48 initiatives from the Fight against Social Exclusion have submitted to this call, along with 41 from the area of Promotion of Entrepreneurship and Innovation; 40 in relation to Support for Education and Culture; and 23 in the Neighborhood Assistance area.
This important response shows the success of the Social Plan, an initiative of commitment and contribution to Ence’s environment, as well as the great interest that it arouses in the residents of Pontevedra, Marín and Poio.
This Plan, to which the company allocates 3 million euros per edition, is one of the largest social initiatives carried out by a private company in Spain. It represents an important contribution to the fight against social exclusion and the quality of life of the citizens of Pontevedra and its region, as well as to education and care for the natural environment.
It is also part of Ence’s firm commitment to sustainability, which is also evident in the environmental excellence of the company’s biofactory in Pontevedra, accredited by awards such as the Gold Distinction from the European Commission for environmental improvement and the Nordic Swan ecolabel. and endorsed, likewise, by the Sustainalytics agency, which has qualified it as the first pulp company in the world in sustainability.
