The Magnon renewable energy plant in Mérida successfully completes its annual technical shutdown

Magnon Green Energy, the Ence Group’s renewable energy subsidiary, has successfully completed the annual technical shutdown of its Mérida facilities, in which it has invested 460,000 euros for equipment improvement operations to maintain the environmental excellence of its facilities, as well as revision and maintenance actions that result in an increase in operating performance and in reinforcing the safety of the plant.

More than 30 auxiliary companies have used it in the different tasks that make up the stop, more than half of these being from the Mérida area, in a coordinated work operation between a hundred people.

In order to ensure the correct development of the wide variety and quantity of scheduled work, a specific safety plan has been put in place with which the process has been completed with zero accidents.

As every year, the biomass renewable energy generation plant that the company has in Extremadura has paused its production to carry out maintenance and inspection of the facilities, thus guaranteeing its excellence in operation.

Thanks to these works, Magnon manages to materialize its management lines: environmental and safety excellence, the continuous improvement of its results and facilities, and the social and economic commitment to the environment.

The Mérida plant generates renewable energy from agricultural and forestry biomass from the Extremadura area, giving a new life to these remains that, otherwise, could pose an environmental problem in the Extremadura fields, due to the uncontrolled burning of the same ones that occur on some occasions. In addition, its activity positively benefits the economy of the territory since, with an installed capacity of 20MW, it manages to generate 500 direct, indirect and induced jobs in the environment, according to data provided by APPA.
