The Magnon renewable energy plant in Mérida successfully completes its annual technical shutdown, in which it has invested more than 1 million euros

Magnon Green Energy has successfully completed the annual technical shutdown at its Mérida facilities, in which it has invested more than 1 million euros for equipment improvement operations to achieve environmental excellence, as well as review and maintenance actions that result in in increasing the operational performance and safety of the plant.

In total, more than 180 people have been working at the plant during the 17 days that the stoppage has lasted. This execution period has been successfully reduced by 2 days from the initial planning defined, thanks to the coordinated work of the Magnon staff and the 35 auxiliary companies contracted to carry out this project – more than half of them from the Mérida – allowing the plant to maximize its time operating at full capacity.

To ensure the correct development of the great variety and quantity of scheduled work, a specific safety plan has been launched, as every year, with which the process has been completed with zero accidents.

Like every year, the renewable energy generation plant with biomass that the Ence Group’s energy subsidiary has in Extremadura has paused its production to carry out maintenance and review of the facilities to guarantee its excellence in operation.

Thanks to these works, Magnon manages to materialize its management lines: environmental and safety excellence, continuous improvement of its results and facilities, and social and economic commitment to the environment.

The Mérida plant generates renewable energy from the agricultural and forestry biomass of the Extremadura area, giving a new life to these remains that, otherwise, can pose an environmental problem in the Extremaduran fields, since it is often produced uncontrolled burning of them. In addition, its activity positively benefits the economy of the territory since, with an installed capacity of 20MW, it manages to generate 500 direct, indirect and induced jobs in the area.
