The Ence Navia biofactory will begin this coming Monday, February 7, its annual technical shutdown, which will last until February 20.
During this shutdown, an ambitious work plan is carried out to incorporate new technologies and improve existing ones, in order to continue reinforcing its efficiency, reliability and environmental excellence. In addition, as usual, along with the work aimed at maintaining the biofactory, the technical interruption will be used to reinforce its efficiency and sustainability.
Throughout this shutdown, and in order to carry out proper maintenance of the facilities and implement the planned improvements, 6.4 million euros will be invested in the Asturian plant. Of the total, more than 1.2 million euros will be used to reinforce the environmental behavior of the biofactory.
In this sense, it should be remembered that this facility has been recognized with the “Nordic Swan” ecological label, in addition to the “Zero Waste” certificate from Aenor. Likewise, its biomass has been accredited under the “SURE” scheme, which ensures its sustainability.
The safety and health of all people related to Ence’s activity represents a priority for the company. Therefore, compliance with all security measures within the biofactory will be rigorously supervised.
In addition, due to the pandemic situation, the company will apply its strict security protocol against Covid 19 to all workers, both those who work directly at Ence Navia and those who, additionally, They will access the plant to carry out work related to the shutdown. Among the measures that will be applied to guarantee protection and safety against the Coronavirus are the delivery of FFP2 masks, the performance of antigen tests on all workers, the control of access to the facilities through a mobile application and the distance of security.
For Ence, the technical stoppage of its biofactories is a key moment because during it several of the main axes of its management model materialize: environmental and safety excellence, the continuous improvement of its results and facilities and the social commitment to the around.
