Ence’s biofactory in Pontevedra has been awarded the 2024 Sustainable Company Award for its outstanding work in implementing responsible practices in terms of sustainability and care for the environment. This recognition, awarded by the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Pontevedra (CEP) in collaboration with the Professional Association of Environmental Companies (APROEMA), highlights the company’s commitment to the efficient management of natural resources and innovation in its industrial processes.
The award ceremony took place today within the framework of the III CEP Sustainable Company Forum, an event dedicated to promoting the adoption of good business practices aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
One of the key projects that has contributed to this award has been the implementation of an advanced water recirculation system at the Pontevedra plant, which allows treated water to be reused within its processes, significantly reducing consumption and guaranteeing operational sustainability. In addition, Ence continues to invest in the production of renewable products by managing resources responsibly and reducing its carbon footprint. These efforts reflect the company’s commitment to eco-efficiency and environmental protection in all its operations, consolidating itself as a benchmark in sustainability within the industrial sector.
In addition, the biofactory highlights the production of thermal and electrical energy through a self-sufficient cycle. This renewable energy is completely manageable and exported to the electricity grid. In this way, Ence actively contributes to the decarbonisation of the economy.
