Social interest and the fight against Covid-19 characterize the beneficiary projects of Ence’s annual aid in San Juan del Puerto

Ence and the City Council of San Juan del Puerto have awarded the aid of the collaboration agreement that both entities maintain, endowed with 100,000 euros per year for citizen initiatives, to 18 projects of which the global interest for this Huelva town and the needs caused by the health situation.

In total, 30 projects of a social, cultural and sports nature have attended this year’s call, which have been evaluated by the Monitoring Commission following the criteria established in the bases, among which this year the special consideration has had an extraordinary weight of the projects that proposed containment measures or fight against the effects of Covid-19.

As a result of this evaluation, the 18 selected groups will receive 52,779 euros in direct aid to develop the proposed initiatives. Among other objectives, these grants will serve for the digital transformation and adaptation of educational center facilities, for the modernization of social centers, for the digital literacy of the elderly and to support the sport of the town.

In April of this year, Ence advanced 50,000 euros from the aid agreement to strengthen the San Juan city council in its fight against COVID-19. Both the energy company and the San Juan city council agreed to solve priorities derived from the health crisis, such as the continuous provision of individual protection equipment, sanitary material and disinfection of the municipality, among other needs already resolved under this agreement of colaboration.
