Molded Cellulose
We are shaping the next generation of renewable packaging
Our packaging is made from molded cellulose for food and fast-moving consumer goods.
A sustainable and functional solution that meets the evolving challenges of the packaging industry, providing a compelling alternative to fossil-based plastics.

A fully circular project
The Molded Cellulose project is part of Ence’s Circular Economy Strategy. Specifically, it is part of the Bioproducts and Ecosystem Services pillar, which aims to diversify the company’s activities and develop a portfolio of higher value-added products and services.
Designed in accordance with food safety and ecodesign criteria, these solutions contribute to advancing circularity and reducing the carbon footprint of end products through the use of locally sourced natural, renewable, biodegradable and compostable fibres.

Molded cellulose packaging…
- Is produced from renewable cellulose fiber from eucalyptus.
- Contributes to waste reduction through its compostable and/or recyclable properties.
- Uses wood sourced according to the highest sustainability standards.
- Ensures food protection and preservation while enabling efficient transport and storage.
- Combines a smooth, premium finish with excellent user experience and safety from retail shelf to food regeneration in conventional ovens and microwaves.
An integrated production process
- We combine strong in-house manufacturing capabilities with a highly skilled team that brings extensive expertise in the development and production of molded fiber solutions.
- We leverage advanced technology focused on process optimization, with a clear commitment to production efficiency and continuous improvement.
- We ensure a reliable supply and agility to meet evolving customer demands.
A commitment to innovation

Ence is strengthening its commitment to innovation and sustainable development through molded cellulose packaging: a renewable solution that helps reduce plastic waste, responds to new market demands and evolving packaging legislation, and creates greater value for the business.
Designed for food applications — such as trays for fresh produce and ready meals — these containers are made from compostable and recyclable materials. Their development contributes to lower-impact packaging, aligned with the principles of the circular economy and responsible consumption.
Leadership in innovation
Ence is a benchmark in innovation, thanks, among other initiatives, to its involvement in bio-based packaging projects:
VALERIA Project
Led by Ence, VALERIA was launched to bring food packaging one step further by offering a real alternative to conventional plastic packaging.
The project is funded by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) and supported by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
