Marc Gómez has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ence Energía, Ence’s renewable energy subsidiary – Energía y Celulosa.
Marc comes from ABB Spain, a company of which he has been President and CEO since 2018 and in which he has developed his career for the last 26 years. Industrial Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Barcelona, MBA from EADA (Barcelona School of Management and Administration) and Senior Leadership Program from IMD (Switzerland), Marc brings a solid experience in the industrial and renewable energy sector.
His arrival at Ence coincides with a time when the company is firmly committed to investing in the renewable energy business, with a focus on electricity generation with biomass and photovoltaics, as well as the development of new formulas that, such as storage , allow progress towards security of supply and offer support to the electricity system.
As highlighted by the new CEO of Ence Energía, Marc Gómez, “we have a lot to contribute to the manageability of the system, generating renewable energy and helping to promote the presence of these sources of electricity production. An exciting and challenging task, strongly linked to notions such as rural development and sustainability ”.
Marc Gómez replaces Felipe Torroba who, since 2018, has held the positions of General Director of Energy and CEO of Ence – Energía. A period in which the company has consolidated its role as a benchmark for renewable energy with biomass and has opted for the development of photovoltaic assets in Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha and Extremadura. Felipe Torroba will remain in the company, and will continue to carry out his excellent work from the Finance Department, taking care of the M & A area.
