EMPIEZA. CONTADOR:1

Magnon aims to achieve 2,000 GWh of renewable thermal energy production by 2030, making a significant contribution to the energy transition. This target will be achieved through the development of more than 30 industrial biomass projects across Spain, managing over 800,000 tonnes of biomass every year to produce locally sourced renewable heat.

Magnon delivers comprehensive decarbonisation solutions for industrial thermal energy demand, based on agroforestry biomass. These solutions enable customers to benefit from locally produced renewable heat at a competitive and stable long-term price.

1

Engineering: A dedicated engineering team designs tailor-made biomass plants based on each customer’s energy requirements and technical specifications.

Castile-La Mancha

Mahou San Miguel in Alovera, Guadalajara

Construction of a biomass plant to produce superheated water for Mahou San Miguel’s brewery.

Representing an investment of €16 million, the facility will supply 85 GWh of renewable thermal energy per year over a 15-year period, significantly contributing to the decarbonisation of the brewery’s industrial operations.

Commissioning is scheduled for the first half of 2026. The project has also received €4 million in funding through Spain’s Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE) for Industrial Decarbonisation.

Castile-La Mancha and Andalusia

Lactalis, in Villarrobledo and Granada

Construction of two biomass-fired renewable energy plants at Lactalis’ production facilities in Villarrobledo (Albacete) and Granada, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability and the energy transition.

The projects represent a combined investment of €12 million, partially funded through the Spanish Government’s PERTE Industrial Decarbonisation programme.

Once operational, they will enable Lactalis to reduce its Scope 1 and Scope 2 CO₂ emissions in Spain by 76% compared with the 2019 baseline, while generating around 80 GWh of renewable thermal energy each year, accelerating the company’s industrial decarbonisation strategy.
