Meet the Ence Biogas team

JORDI AGUILÓ
President

Jordi Alguiló was General Director of Ence’s Energy Business, after successfully developing it and consolidating operations for 6 years, until in 2018 he was appointed General Director of the Pulp Business.

Before joining Ence in 2012, he held various management positions in the infrastructure and energy sectors (ACS group, COMSA) where he led project development, EPC construction and asset management such as IPP. He was also involved in R&D projects in Germany with RWE and in a Spanish Technology Center.

Since 2017, Jordi has been the President of APPA Biomasa, which is the main business association of the sector in Spain and the interlocutor with the different administrations (European and national) in the key regulations for the sector. He has also been a member of CEPI’s Energy Committee and actively participates in ASPAPEL’s steering committee.

He is an Industrial Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), graduated in Physics from the University of Barcelona (UB) and Executive MBA from IESE.

 

OSCAR MACIÑEIRAS
CEO

Oscar Maciñeiras has a degree in Business Administration and PDG from IESE. Before he joined Ence, he had a long career in management positions, with 12 years in general manager positions. His last position was in the gas industry, directing Scale Gas, an Enagas subsidiary that promotes and manages LNG, CNG and hydrogen infrastructures in the small-scale unregulated market, where he led its rapid growth and its entry into markets such as construction and chartering of LNG supply ships, as well as the promotion of the first hydrogen generators to supply high-pressure hydrogen vehicles in Spain.

He began his professional career at Accenture and at Arthur Andersen, later through financial director positions and several years as an entrepreneur. He has worked in different sectors (gas, construction, telecommunications, transportation, tourism), and in several Latin American countries (Chile, Brazil, Peru, Paraguay, Panama, and Bolivia). He was a member of the Board of Directors of Gebta Europa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Egatel and member of the board of directors of several Scale Gas subsidiaries.

 

MARCELINO OREJA
Adviser

Marcelino Oreja was CEO of ENAGAS from 2012 to 2022.
He actively led the company’s internationalization process, both in America and in Europe.
He has been a pioneer in promoting initiatives to promote the use of hydrogen and other renewable gases, in order to move towards decarbonization and promote innovation within the company.
Born in Madrid in 1969. He is an industrial property agent, Industrial Engineer from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICAI)

He has been Secretary General of the Spanish Confederation of Associations of Young Entrepreneurs. He founded DEF-4, a patent and trademark company. He has advised other companies on their international and strategic development and has held senior management positions at COMSA and ALDEASA. He has been a member of the European Parliament between 2002 and 2004. He has also been a member of the board of directors of the Basque Energy Entity (EVE) and President of FEVE (Ferrocarriles de Vía Estrecha) in 2012.

 

JOAQUIN CORONADO
Adviser

Joaquín Coronado has extensive experience in the energy sector, in which he has been General Director of EDP, CEO of EDP Spain, President of NEO (today EDP Renovables) and Vice President of Naturgas. He has also been a director of Red Eléctrica and OMIE.

Between 2008 and 2015 he was a partner at PwC Spain, forming part of the firm’s board and leading the Deals & Consulting practice, and being part of the global energy and infrastructure team where he advised his clients in due diligence and M&A processes. .

In the last seven years, he has participated as a founder and investor in various energy and infrastructure projects such as Altán Redes, Taiyo, Podo, Sainsol, Greenfo, and Build to Zero.
He is currently a member of the boards of Magnon and the Morgan Stanley infrastructure fund, as well as Chairman of Redexis.
