Ence Terra invests over one million euros in improving wood reception at the Pontevedra and Navia biofactories

  • The company is enhancing the daily experience and safety of hauliers, operators and partners who use the wood and biomass reception facilities.
  • As a strategic ally of the sector, Ence Terra continues to support solutions that promote stability, profitability and the development of rural areas.

Ence Terra, an initiative promoted by Ence that brings together all of the company’s forestry activity, continues to make progress in its investment and improvement plan for the wood yards at its Pontevedra and Navia biofactories. The main aim of this set of actions—into which the company has invested over one million euros—is to improve the daily experience and safety of the hauliers, operators and partners who use the wood and biomass reception facilities.

Works at the Pontevedra biofactory

At the Pontevedra biofactory, following an improvement project on the traffic routes, a new waiting booth for hauliers has been installed, signage has been reinforced, and an information system with a large display screen has been put in place to provide relevant information for hauliers.

In Pontevedra, two-way intercoms have also been installed to facilitate communication between drivers and operators at the timber yard, and other key measures have been completed, such as illuminated signage and the installation of fixed signs.

Works at the Navia biofactory

At the Navia biofactory, in addition to resurfacing the internal roads, large storage islands have been filled, allowing for better use of areas previously vulnerable to rainfall. An information screen has also been installed, providing real-time messages regarding the wood yard and other relevant updates.

Furthermore, new technologies are being introduced at the Navia facility to automate tasks previously carried out manually, such as cleaning the platforms. The new automatic blowing machines improve both the safety conditions and the operational efficiency of hauliers. This innovation will also be implemented at the Ence Pontevedra wood yard.

Commitment to the forestry sector

These investments address operational needs and represent a significant improvement in the user experience at the wood yards. The placement of services such as information screens and haulier booths ensures better coordination of operations, taking into account both traffic flows and user needs. Each of these improvements is designed to facilitate the daily work of Ence

Terra’s partners: their safety, comfort and access to clear information are priorities in every decision made by the company.

Through these actions, Ence Terra reaffirms its commitment to the development of a modern, efficient and sustainable forestry sector. As a strategic ally of the sector, Ence Terra continues to back real solutions that promote stability, profitability and the development of rural areas.
