Ence actively participates in the environment of its biofactories and power plants, collaborating and contributing to the well-being of the neighbors. This commitment has been reinforced in Asturias in recent months, through actions to support communities near the Navia pulp mill, which have been maintained and increased during the health crisis and in the recovery process after it.
In the municipality of Coaña, the City Council is carrying out various actions on the municipal soccer field, and has requested Ence to collaborate to co-finance the actions it carries out. Ence will contribute a contribution of 23,000 euros for the repair and improvement of the stands. The action aims to improve the conditions of use, providing greater protection against rain, and the safety of facilities. The project includes the reinforcement of the structure, the cleaning and replacement of different elements and covers, the placement of railings and steps, and the repair of the walls that serve as an enclosure.
This action, agreed with the local Administration, will allow a substantial improvement in sports practice in the municipality of Coañés. The facilities of the municipal soccer field “Los Castros” are used, mainly, by the Unión Deportiva Castros, and is part of the sports complex that serves the entire municipality. The promotion of a healthy life, through the practice of sport, is one of the values that Ence wants to promote and highlight among the communities near its plants.
In the municipality of Navia, Ence supports and contributes to financing the promotion and visibility campaign of the local business community, promoted by the City Council. This initiative, promoted by the City Council, aims to promote commerce, hospitality and local tourist accommodation to contribute to its recovery after the crisis caused by the coronavirus. Ence includes this collaboration within the Agreement signed with the City Council in 2017.
For Ence, commitment to the environment is a priority. This is evidenced by the company’s continuous collaboration with the communities in the environments in which it operates. In this sense, Ence has also allocated funds to defray different actions in support of citizens in the health crisis, and maintains a constant dialogue to identify and support new initiatives to contribute to an inclusive, green and sustainable recovery.
