Ence has won the title of Most Sustainable Company at the second edition of the Banco Sabadell Awards, an event organized by the bank and the Prensa Ibérica group held in Madrid on May 26, which brought together leading figures from the business world in our country and other representatives from the political and social spheres.
Ence shares awards with other top-level organizations such as Acerinox, Técnicas Reunidas and Grupo Ortiz. Victoria Hierro, Director of Corporate Finance and Treasury of Ence, received the award and during her speech she pointed out “the responsibility and enthusiasm” with which the company has received this distinction that “reaffirms our commitment to profitable sustainability, one of the pillars on which we base our business model and the conduct of all those who make up the company”.
The company, a benchmark in the generation of renewable energies and the production of specialty cellulose, is committed to the decarbonization of society, energy autonomy and the responsible management of natural resources. Boosting energy independence and decarbonization
Ence is the European leader in eucalyptus pulp and the leading Spanish company in the production of renewable thermal and electrical energy from biomass. With close to 1,300 employees, it manages 70,000 hectares of forestland with 1.2 million tons of installed capacity.
Its circular and sustainable model promotes the country’s energy independence, decarbonization and rural employment. It is the largest biomass collector and transformer in Spain and the largest renewable energy generator in the country, with an installed capacity of 266 MW.
