The fifteen people trained in mechanized forestry operations, as well as the Huelva institutions involved in Ence’s forestry scholarships, were received by the company this Wednesday at its Huelva facilities. The objective has been to evaluate the experience and mark the next steps in the professional future of this first beneficiary group of the initiative.
In total 15 people, 14 men and 1 woman, have been certified in the Forestry Machinist course at the Forma-T School of Lugo, in Galicia, where they have developed during the month of October a training of 120 theoretical and practical hours in in which the company has invested more than 33,000 euros.
Each participant has acquired knowledge in the control and management of forestry machinery from highly qualified personnel, and has also obtained basic mechanical knowledge for its correct maintenance. This training offers them an immediate improvement in their job prospects, since there is a serious lack of qualified personnel in the province of Huelva for this type of forestry operations. That is one of Ence’s reasons for promoting these scholarships: to promote the professionalization and modernization of a fundamental economic sector for the province, while reaffirming its commitment to the people and the territory in which it carries out its activities.
Sharing the importance of this objective, the Beturia del Andévalo Association, the Sierra Minera Association and the municipalities of Rosal de la Frontera and Aroche have collaborated closely in promoting the first forestry scholarships in Huelva, from where they have coordinated the selection and supported in different ways the maintenance and stay in Lugo for three weeks of the scholarship holders.
During the meeting at the Ence facilities, in addition to evaluating the experience and collecting their opinions regarding the call for upcoming forestry scholarships, the group learned about the work of transforming biomass into renewable electrical energy, as well as the operations of the company’s nurseries in Huelva.
In the coming weeks, the 7 best files from this first group formed will access two months of internships in Ence supplier companies, however, all people are already prepared to respond to the need for qualified professionals in the management of forestry machinery. that the sector is demanding.
For Ence, the revitalization of the economy and employment in rural areas is a fundamental key to avoiding the social problem caused by the depopulation of towns. For this reason, for years the company has maintained a close relationship with its stakeholders in the towns where it carries out its forestry operations, responding to their needs and seeking to consolidate itself as a driving force in rural areas, the ones most in need of this. type of supports.
