The thousands of forest owners who grow eucalyptus in Asturias now have a telephone number, 900 100 750, to request advice from Ence’s technical team to improve the forestry management of their plots, in order to increase their productivity and sustainability.
The company offers this contact to arrange free, no-obligation visits to the plantations, in order to advise the individual on issues such as the selection of appropriate plant to each plot, the necessary forestry operations on the farm, the treatment of pests, the selection of the optimal time of cutting, forestry regulations or steps to develop management groups, among others.
As part of its commitment to the development of sustainable and responsible forest management, Ence has created a technical team to collaborate with landowners in the application of practices and methods with positive effects on their eucalyptus plantations. Together with the sector and wood suppliers, the aim is to increase the efficiency of these plantations, without increasing their surface area, generating more value not only economically for the owner, but also socially and environmentally in rural areas.
In addition to the operations to be carried out in the field, an additional objective of this line of work is to promote collaboration between owners to establish management units with a larger surface area, thus overcoming the limitations of smallholdings, which means a reduction in costs and an increase in the productivity of the crops, facilitating their management. This team also promotes and disseminates examples of model forestry so that landowners can learn about them in the field and apply them to their plantations.
Ence offers these services, within the capacity of its new team, in collaboration with forestry associations in Asturias, at no cost to the landowner.
