Ence promotes the role of women through its ambitious equality objectives

For Ence – Energía y Celulosa, equal opportunities is one of its fundamental ethical pillars. The company makes equality an element of competitiveness, maintaining a firm commitment to female employment and a firm commitment to equity within its human team.

Proof of this commitment are the company’s ambitious Equality Goals, condensed into ten measures, through which Ence wants to become a benchmark, reinforcing the role of women within the organization and attracting and promoting female talent. Today, the success of these objectives has been demonstrated.

In terms of new hires, in 2022 the company had at least one woman in the final shortlist of 100% of the selection processes. Similarly, the company increased the representation of women under 30 with a university degree by 4 percentage points, compared to the previous year. Likewise, it has been achieved that no woman individually presents a salary gap with her male peers in equivalent positions.

In the field of professional development, measures were introduced to avoid biases in promotion processes. Similarly, the representation of women in Management Development programs and other training actions was strengthened, increasing the presence of women in these programs by 12 percentage points compared to the previous year.

These objectives are completed with the promotion of a professional and personal balance, with measures aimed at labor flexibility and with the support from the company for an equitable use of leave for the birth of children. It should be noted that, in the year 2022, both men and women enjoyed or are enjoying 100% of their leave for the birth of a child.

The last objective of this Equality Plan is to ensure compliance with these objectives, for which the company has developed a Technical Equality Commission, which meets periodically to monitor the established measures.

In this way, Ence actively contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 5): achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, making the industry a place where everyone can develop a career successful professional.
