Ence launches, for the second consecutive year, a campaign for coastal cleaning with environmental and educational purposes

Nearly 90 children aged between three and eleven years from CEIP Isidora Riestra and CEIP de Viñas schools, in the municipality of Poio, participated last Friday, June 13, in a coastal cleaning day that took place around the Paseo de Ostreira and the surroundings of Xiorto (Raxó) and Cabeceira (Lourido) beaches, both recognized this year with the Blue Flag distinction.

The activity is part of the Social Plan of Ence Pontevedra and celebrates its second edition after the great success of last year. During the day, nearly 75 kg of waste were collected, which will be revalued and transformed into sustainable benches. These benches will be delivered as a token of appreciation to the participating schools, reinforcing the value of their active involvement with the environment.

The experience had a strong educational component. The students learned to identify different types of waste and reflected on the impact they have on the marine and terrestrial environment, as well as the importance of adopting responsible habits from an early age.

This action is another example of Ence’s commitment to the environment and environmental education as a key tool to build a more sustainable future. Through the Social Plan, the company will continue to support initiatives that promote ecological responsibility, active community participation, and the care of the natural spaces that surround us.
