Ence launches a new edition of its Social Plan for Pontevedra, Marín and Poio

  • This year’s call for proposals will start in June and will be aimed at local initiatives that promote social welfare and environmental development in the region.

Ence – Energía y Celulosa will launch next June the sixth call for its Social Plan in the municipalities of Pontevedra, Marín and Poio. With a total allocation of three million euros, this initiative has established itself as one of the most prominent nationally in terms of corporate social responsibility driven by a private company.

Sustainable development of the region

The Social Plan is part of the Environmental Pact signed between Ence and the Galician Regional Government’s Department of the Environment and Territorial Planning. Its aim is to support projects that promote the welfare of the community and encourage sustainable development in the region.

The call will be open to individuals and legal entities that submit proposals to be carried out in the municipalities of Pontevedra, Marín and Poio with actions in: Promotion of social inclusion, Recovery and care of the environment, Promotion of education and culture, Promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation, Promotion of grassroots and elite sport or Administration, management, communication and digitisation of aid.Exceptionally, projects located in other areas will also be eligible for aid, especially those linked to forestry and environmental conservation activities.

More than 1,400 projects have benefited

Over the years, Ence’s Social Plan in Pontevedra has benefited more than 1,400 projects, which have directly contributed to improving the quality of life of citizens and the conditions of many of the groups at risk of exclusion in Pontevedra and the surrounding area.
