Ence – Energía y Celulosa has presented today a new Call for its Social Plan for Pontevedra, whose application submission period will be open from April 11 to May 10, 2023. This Plan, to which the company allocates 3 million euros per edition, is one of the largest social initiatives carried out by a private company in Spain.
This was explained today by the Territorial Director of Ence in Galicia, Antonio Casal, in a meeting with the media chaired by the Territorial Delegate of the Xunta in Pontevedra, Luis López.
After the great reception that the Plan had in its previous editions, in which a total of 811 projects were beneficiaries, the company is confident in the success of this new call and in being able to continue contributing actively to improving the quality of life of its neighbors, the care of its environment and the economic growth of the region.
Natural or legal persons who present projects to be developed in the territorial scope of the municipalities of Pontevedra, Marín and Poio may be beneficiaries of the aid. Exceptionally, projects in other areas may be supported, mainly related to forestry and environmental care activities.
Each applicant must select an area of action, based on the characteristics of their project. The budgets awarded to each of the areas in this 2023 call are the following:
As Antonio Casal explained, “in the last edition of the Plan, 290 projects benefited, with which Ence actively contributed to improving the quality of life in Pontevedra, Poio and Marín”. Likewise, he has stressed that this initiative “shows Ence’s commitment to Pontevedra and to the communities with which it lives”.
The territorial delegate of the Xunta in Pontevedra, Luis López, has celebrated the “so agile” reactivation of Ence’s Social Plan, “since it is indisputably derived from the continuity of the company in Lourizán, with the importance that this has for the economy , industry and employment in the region”. The regional representative highlighted the importance of Ence’s Social Plan “for the development of grassroots sports, culture, inclusion, the environment, entrepreneurship and neighborhood actions” in the municipalities of Pontevedra, Marín and Poio, and has also valued the company’s commitment to these issues.
As on previous occasions, in this new edition of the Pontevedra Social Plan, aid applications will be submitted through the website www.plansocialence.es, where the bases of this call and all the information from the previous ones can also be consulted. In addition, the company has an email account (plansocialpontevedra@ence.es) enabled to make any query related to the Plan.
