ENCE ENERGÍA Y CELULOSA S.A. RECEIVES GRANT OF FEDER/CDTI FUNDS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROJECT:
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEW CLONAL NETWORK WITH NEW FOREST SPECIES NOT CULTIVATED IN SPAIN

FILE NUMBER IDI-20230008

ACRONYM: CLONFORE22

The main objective is to develop a new network of forest clones of hybrid and pure species of Eucalyptus not currently cultivated in Spain by carrying out research and experimental tests with genetic material and various silvicultural techniques and thus achieve the identification and selection of the most suitable material. tolerant and with a greater guarantee of sustainability against pests and diseases that currently considerably reduce productivity in plantations of the eucalyptus genus in the Iberian Peninsula, ENCE faces a great technological challenge since it will have to provide a solution to the problems that arise related to a displaced climate that favors the proliferation of pests and directly affects the development of eucalyptus masses, especially in the NW of Spain where they occupy the largest area, which manifests the high degree of uncertainty associated with the development of this research project.

The budget of this project is €2,450,470.00

Execution period: 05/11/2022 to 04/30/2025.
