Ence donates biomass for the air conditioning of the municipal pool of San Juan del Puerto

The biomass with which Ence generates electrical power in its operations center of Huelva will be used to heat the municipal pool of the neighboring town of San Juan del Puerto, after the donation of eight tons of this natural and renewable fuel that the company has done to the town hall of San Juan.

The donated material will serve to end the season, for which it is necessary to keep the boiler that heated the sports facilities of the pool on, thus guaranteeing this service to its eight hundred users.

This collaboration is part of the firm commitment of the company to the environmental and social improvement of the localities in the vicinity of its operations, a priority of its Corporate Social Responsibility policy.

For Ence this donation is important, not only because of what it means for the quality of life and well-being of its neighbors, but also because it encourages the use of biomass as an alternative energy source that favors the environment and the rural economy, among other benefits.
The electrical energy generated with agroforestry biomass is the only renewable programmable without climate dependencies. It is also an abundant energy source in our country, which creates rural jobs, while strengthening local economies. At the same time, it is beneficial for the environment, since it reduces the risk of forest fires, prevents uncontrolled burning in agriculture and, in addition, the combustion process of biomass is emission neutral.

Ence is the first company in Spain in renewable energy production with forestry and agricultural biomass. It has 332 MW of installed power, of which 269 MW correspond to generation with biomass.
