Ence continues to strengthen security against Covid-19

Ence Energía y Celulosa has been one of the pioneering organizations in the Spanish industrial field in launching an action protocol against COVID-19. Anticipating the situation, the company established on February 24 a preventive protocol in all its work centers, which included measures such as the restriction of visits to biofactories, the provision of surgical masks and disinfectant gel, as well as the continuous performance of tests to identify possible asymptomatic cases, among other multiple measures. Safety has been, since the beginning of the health crisis, a priority for Ence.

The latest innovation of the company in terms of security has been the implementation of a digital tool, called “Covid Passport”, which allows automating the secure access of people to work centers. This application processes a questionnaire and together with the tests carried out on each person before accessing Ence’s facilities, giving the green light only to those who comply with all the guarantees to prevent contagion.

This innovation has recently been launched in cellulose bio-factories and renewable energy plants as one of the most important measures to continue to strengthen the safety of Ence’s facilities. The company continues, in this way, anticipating the analysis of all the risks derived from the virus and implementing preventive measures prematurely, thereby seeking the protection of the human team and their families, against any other criteria.

Currently, Ence’s human team maintains strict security measures to be able to carry out their work without risk of contagion, such as temperature controls at the entrance, disinfection of spaces, minimum distance of 2 meters between workers, wearing a face shield, mask and gloves in proximity jobs or make shift changes electronically.

Similarly, Ence was one of the first Spanish companies to introduce teleworking in all its centers, in order to reduce the traffic of people and ensure the production of cellulose and energy. A modality that, depending on the active protocols, is maintained in the various work centers.

Safety, at Ence, is part of the essential management variables of the company and is one of the pillars that underpin its commitment to sustainability, in order to contribute to improving people’s well-being, promoting economic and social development of the communities in which it is present and create sustainable value over time.
