Ence Energía y Celulosa collaborates with Forma-t to carry out two new courses to train new forestry operators for processors and forwarders, in order to develop and professionalize the sector, as well as to continue improving safety at work.
The company expects that part of the students, once the course is finished, will begin to work in leading companies in the forestry sector, such as forestry and lumber companies, contributing to their growth.
These free courses are intended to respond to the high demand for forestry processors and forwarders, a profession on the rise that currently lacks professionals. In addition, and within Ence’s commitment to equality, it is intended to promote the hiring of women, less represented in the forestry occupation. Thus, it will be possible to reinforce the sustainability of the forestry sector, nourishing it with this female talent.
During the course, students will learn the theoretical foundations for handling machinery and its maintenance, and will carry out practices both in a state-of-the-art simulator and in professional machines. In addition, they will attend an occupational risk prevention course through which they will obtain a certificate in PRL, which will help instruct professionals with knowledge in safety.
The course will be taught by the Grupo Forma-t training company in Villalba (Lugo), starting next December 1, with a duration of two months and in face-to-face mode.
This initiative is aimed at unemployed people interested in starting work as a forestry operator, without previous experience in processors and forwarders, with the opportunity to join leading companies in the sector at the end of the training.
