Ence Energía y Celulosa, in collaboration with Forma-t, promotes the implementation of a new course to instruct new forest machinists to manage processors and forwarders, as well as other equipment used in forest work, such as brushcutters or backhoes. The objective is to develop and professionalize the sector, improve work safety and efficiency, and generate employment opportunities in rural areas.
The company expects that part of the students, once the course is finished, will start working in leading companies in the forestry sector, such as forestry and lumber companies, contributing to their professional growth. In fact, there is a high demand for personnel from these companies, having achieved a high labor insertion in the previously developed editions of this course.
These free courses also seek to respond to the high demand for machinists for forest processors and forwarders, a booming profession that currently has a lack of professionals. In addition, and within Ence’s commitment to equality, it is intended to promote the hiring of female talent, less represented in the forestry occupation. Thus, it will be possible to reinforce the sustainability of the forestry sector, nourishing it with this female talent.
During the course, students will learn the theoretical foundations for handling machinery and its maintenance, and will practice both on a state-of-the-art simulator and on professional machines. In addition, they will attend an occupational risk prevention course through which they will obtain a certificate in PRL, which will help to train professionals with knowledge in safety.
The course will be taught by the training company Grupo Forma-t in Villalba (Lugo), starting next April 26, 2023, with a duration of two months and in face-to-face mode.
This initiative is aimed at any employed or unemployed person interested in starting to work as a forestry operator, without previous experience in processors and forwarders, with the opportunity to join leading companies in the sector at the end of the training. Those interested in the course can find out or sign up for it by phone 982 51 36 05, by email info@grupoforma-t.es or through the website https://www.grupoforma-t.com/cursos-procesadora -y-autoloader-forestry-ence/.
