Magnon Green Energy has obtained the certification of the environmental management system in accordance with the international standard ISO 14001 from the Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification (AENOR). With this standard, the operational and documentary control of all environmental aspects related to the production process of the company’s biomass renewable energy generation plants is evaluated favorably.
This certification demonstrates the involvement of all the different areas that make up the teams at the 8 Magnon plants in meeting the objectives associated with environmental excellence and the efficiency of its processes.
Among the company’s strengths, AENOR has highlighted its total quality management system (TQM) and associated tools, which pursue process efficiency, control and traceability in waste management or its maintenance process, among others. .
Similarly, during this audit, some of the certifications held by the Magnon plants have been renewed, such as the Zero Waste certificate, which accredits the efficient management of waste and its revaluation and which holds a small group of companies in Spain.
Magnon is the leading company nationwide in biomass energy production. With 8 plants, located in Huelva, Córdoba, Jaén, Ciudad Real and Mérida, its activity represents a paradigm of the circular economy. Thanks to this technology, a new life is given to the remains of agriculture in the Spanish fields.
Likewise, biomass makes it possible to transform plants linked to the old economy into sustainable plants of the green economy. An example of this is the plant that Magnon has in Puertollano, also known as Biollano, which was built on the premises of an old coal plant. Thus, thanks to the energy generated from biomass, it was possible to contribute to the decarbonisation of the electricity system and maintain, and even increase, the employment generated, this being sustainable and quality employment, based on respect for its environment.
